Total alkalinity is a measure of all alkaline substances found in the pool water. To prevent the pH from "drifting" up and down, the total alkalinity must be maintained between 80 - 120 ppm
Low Total Alaklinity
Low total alkalinity can result in pH bounce, fluctuations, and corrosiveness.
High Total Alaklinity
High total alkalinity can cause the pH to flucuate, cloudy water and scaling.
